Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 August 2026

Short version: DockClick runs entirely on your Mac. It has no analytics, no accounts, and never transmits your data. This policy explains in detail what is (and is not) processed, on which legal basis, and what your rights are.

1. Data controller

The controller responsible for the app DockClick and this website within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

Maximilian Marquart
Email: max@marquart.dev
Web: marquart.dev

2. Scope

This policy covers the DockClick macOS application and this website (mr-mandelbrot.github.io/DockIntercept). Purchasing is handled by Setapp, which acts as an independent data controller under its own privacy policy (see section 5).

3. Data processed by the app

DockClick does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app contains no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising, no crash reporting of its own, and no user accounts. It makes no network connections in normal operation.

To provide its functionality, the app processes the following information locally on your device only:

Because this processing happens exclusively on your device and no data is ever disclosed to the developer or any third party, the developer has no access to it. To the extent a legal basis is required, it is the performance of the license agreement with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

4. Permissions

5. Purchasing via Setapp

DockClick is sold on the Setapp marketplace. When you purchase or install the app through Setapp, your Setapp account, payment and billing data are processed in accordance with the Setapp Privacy Policy. Please review the policy carefully. The developer does not receive your payment details.

6. Support by email

If you contact max@marquart.dev, the developer processes your email address, name (if provided), and the content of your message solely to answer your request. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to your license, otherwise our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Support emails are deleted once the request is resolved, unless statutory retention obligations require longer storage.

7. This website

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., USA). When you visit it, GitHub automatically processes technical server-log data such as your IP address, browser type, and time of access to deliver the site securely, as described in the GitHub Privacy Statement. GitHub, Inc. is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Legal basis: legitimate interest in providing this website securely and efficiently (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). This site itself sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and embeds no third-party trackers.

8. Data sharing

The developer does not sell, rent, or share any personal data. No data is transferred to third parties by the developer, because the developer does not collect any.

9. Data retention

The app stores no data outside your device. Support emails are retained only as long as needed to handle your request (see section 6). Server logs of this website are retained by GitHub under its own policy.

10. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). To exercise your rights, contact max@marquart.dev. Note that for app usage, there is usually nothing to disclose or delete on our side, as all data stays on your device; for purchase data, please contact Setapp/MacPaw as the responsible controller.

11. Children

DockClick is not directed at children and, as described above, collects no personal data from anyone.

12. Changes to this policy

If the app’s data practices ever change (for example, if a future update introduces optional crash reporting), this policy will be updated before such a change takes effect, and the date above will reflect the revision.
